In 2010 a the Remington Nature Center received a large collection of barbed wire from a local collector. These pieces were placed in an exhibit which explains the important changes barbed wire brought to the United States. The development of barbed wire ended the free range, changing the landscape forever.
The barbed wire exhibit displays over 200 different examples, including one of the first patented wires - the Meriwether Wire.
