The city of St. Joseph will officially begin a public comment period on the proposed Community Partnership Strategy and Consolidated Plan 2020-2024 and the First Year Annual Plan. Read the plan draft (PDF). The comment period extends through May 30, 2020. The plan will be finalized and submitted to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on or around June 30, 2020.
The public comment period provides residents, especially those who are low and moderate income and community organizations, an opportunity to address the city staff on the city of St. Joseph’s planned use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME funds available from HUD. These federal funds are intended to primarily address the housing and non-housing needs of low- and moderate-income residents and the areas in which they live.
Questions relating to the above programs and eligible uses of such funds can be addressed to Planning and Community Development staff by phone at 271-4831 or 271-4643. Comments will also be accepted by emailing ddepriest@stjoemo.org or mkgriffin@stjoemo.org. Written comments will also be accepted by mailing: Community Development, 1100 Frederick Ave, Room 101 B, St Joseph MO 64501. Citizens with disabilities or non-English speaking citizens who wish to attend the public hearing and need special accommodations should contact Planning and Community Development so arrangements can be made.
