Remington Nature Center Spotlights

Herp-o-rama Event

Join the Remington Nature Center from 10am-2pm, on Saturday, June 29, for the 8th Annual Herp-o-rama. This event is fun and educational for all ages!

Come meet live reptiles and amphibians including turtles, tortoises, snakes, and many others. Jonn Casey with Casey's Creatures will be present, with his large pythons and other amazing reptiles. Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge will have the state-endangered Prairie Massasauga Rattlesnake. Creatures by Theresa will have live mammals and reptiles, many of which are available for adoption.

A variety of live animals will be on display, with experts available to answer questions to the public. See live turtles, snakes and amphibians.

Crafts and coloring will be available during the event. Tour the nature center and do a scavenger hunt to win a fun prize. Find the 12 hidden frogs and the first 240 kids will win a Peek-a-Zoo Frog.  

This educational and fun event is sponsored in partnership with Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge, Missouri Western State University, Missouri Department of Conservation, Pony Express Amphibian and Reptile Society, Creatures by Theresa and Casey's Creatures.

Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors 60 and older, and $2 for youth ages 4-15. Children three and younger are free of charge. All kids need to be accompanied by an adult.
