St. Joseph is under a heat advisory from 1-9pm, today, June 28, and tomorrow, June 29, as the heat index is predicted to be over 100 degrees. Now that the warmer months are upon the area, it's important to know the signs and symptoms of heat illnesses.
Heat Exhaustion:

If a person is suffering from heat exhaustion, they need to be taken to a cooler, air conditioned place, given water if they are fully conscious and need to take a shower or given cold compresses. If a person is suffering from a heat stroke, call 911 immediately and take immediate action to cool the person down until help arrives.
