Police Public Notice

In accordance with national, state and local recommendations, the Saint Joseph Police Department has made some operational changes. Services will not be cut, but will be altering the way they are delivered. Essential staff will remain in place to provide continuity of essential public services, but concurrently employee interaction with the public will be reduced. Even with limiting interaction, the department will be maintaining and where able increasing marked patrol presence. Officers will still be responding to emergency calls for service and investigating crimes. For calls not in progress where there are no life safety concerns, reports deemed appropriate to take by phone and online will no longer be optional. When officers respond to your calls for service, they may ask you to step outside to speak with them and will be maintaining distance. The lobby is closed to the public, but offices will continue to operate. If you need services, it is recommended you call. If you have a need for records you may contact the records division by phone, 271-4705, and reports will be disseminated electronically.
