A City Council vote resulted in the mayor’s execution of a termination which will end the mandate for face coverings in St. Joseph on Tuesday, March 23, at 11:59pm. Businesses may still require customers and/or employees to wear face coverings.

In a continued effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, City Council has extended the Declaration and Order regarding face coverings and masks through April 15, 2021, during the Monday, February 8, City Council meeting.

Due to the rising number of positive cases, hospitalizations and deaths, Mayor McMurray has signed an amended Declaration and Order effective immediately. The medical exemption regarding face coverings no longer applies to restaurants and taverns.

In a continued effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, a Declaration of Emergency regarding face coverings and masks has been signed into effect as of 12:01am, Thursday, September 17, for a 30-day period.

Effective Monday, July 13, face coverings or masks are required by both employees and customers in retail businesses of 10,000 square feet or more for a period of 60 days. Some exemptions apply.

Effective 11:59pm, Monday, June 15, the Emergency Declaration and Order originally issued by Mayor McMurray on March 16, will expire. The expiration of this order comes at the same time the state’s order will expire, effectively reopening the state.

The City Council has extended the guidelines established in the Fifth Amended Declaration and Order through June 15. Also extended through June 15, was the order issued by the State of Missouri, which applies to the city of St. Joseph.

The final numbers from the COVID-19 community testing clinic held over the weekend at Mosaic Life Care resulted in a total of 34 positive cases of COVID-19 in Buchanan County.

Additional results are back from the COVID-19 community testing clinic held over the weekend at Mosaic Life Care. An additional 537 results were received today confirming 14 new positive cases of COVID-19 for Buchanan County.

A total of 1,593 individuals participated in the weekend COVID-19 community testing clinic held at Mosaic Life Care. On Saturday, 834 tests were conducted, and 759 tests conducted on Sunday.

A Buchanan County resident who tested positive for COVID-19 has died. The resident, a male in his forties, tested positive for the coronavirus on April 22, and had underlying medical conditions.

The City of St. Joseph has confirmed another positive case of COVID-19. The fourth positive case is a female in her forties. Her only travel history is to Kansas City. She resides in St. Joseph and is currently under the care of Mosaic Life Care.

The city’s third positive case is a male in his thirties. His only travel history is to Kansas City. He tested at Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph Urgent Care. The individual resides in St. Joseph and is currently isolated at home.

The City of St. Joseph has confirmed two positive cases of COVID-19. The first is a female in her twenties and is staying at home with family in St. Joseph. The second is a female in her thirties and was tested by Northwest Health Services.
