Any individual whom sells or serves alcoholic beverages in the city of St. Joseph, Missouri is required to obtain a server license per the City's Code of Ordinances Chapter 4 Section 18. The following requirements must be met:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- The applicant must obtain the Server License within 30 days of employment.
- Must complete the online training program linked below.
- Pay the license fee of $15 (ONLY card payments accepted).
- Upon completion, the applicant will have the opportunity to print a certificate.
- Your certificate will serve as proof of completion until you receive your 3-year license in the mail. Please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery, additional time may be required during holidays.
- For those needing a receipt for the Server License, you will have the ability to print a receipt at the end of the process.
- This process also applies to any individual needing a certificate for court purposes.
- It is your responsibility to keep your license current and, in your possession, while selling/serving alcohol.
**You must pass the test within three attempts or you will need to pay the $15 fee again.**
Residents are highly encouraged to go through the process on a computer rather than on a cellular device.
